Job Description

Eikon Therapeutics is a new biopharmaceutical company employing revolutionary technology at the intersection of chemistry, engineering, computation, and biology to discover novel treatments for life-threatening diseases. Eikon’s discovery platform is built on groundbreaking innovations from its founders (Nobel Prize, 2014), culminating in the creation of microscopes which enable real time, molecular-resolution measurements of protein movement in living cells, thereby unlocking otherwise intractable classes of proteins as drug targets.

Position 

As a member of the High-Throughput Biology Team, you will contribute to drug discovery screening campaigns using Eikon’s super-resolution microscopy platform. You will work closely with biologists, chemists, automation and software engineers to optimize cell-based assay at scale, execute and analyze high-throughput screens to generate actionable data.  

About You 

You are a highly motivated biologist with extensive experience in developing and executing high-throughput experiments, statistical analysis, data quality control, and interpreting complex data sets. Familiar with microscopy-based assays, you thrive in team environments and enjoy collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds. Known for your creativity, adaptability, and problem-solving skills in fast-paced settings, you possess excellent communication abilities and are conscientious, detail-oriented, and organized. You are committed to personal growth and eager to learn, driven to join an interdisciplinary team and push the frontier of drug discovery.

What You will Do 

  • Optimize and scale microscopy-based assays for HTS with an emphasis on robustness & reproducibility.
  • Develop standardized procedures in close collaboration with other teams from the Research Operation department, to ensure robust screening activities.  
  • Analyze large dataset using state-of-the-art computational and statistical methods, including machine learning. 
  • Summarize key biological results to advance drug discovery efforts across an array of disease areas.
  • Contribute to the growth and training of junior scientists.
  • Collaborate and communicate across a diverse team of biologists, chemists, hardware and software engineers.  

Qualifications 

  • PhD degree; or master’s degree plus 10 years of relevant experience; or bachelor’s degree plus 12 years of relevant experience in cellular biology, biotechnology or related field.
  • Working experience in an area of high-throughput biology: high-throughput assay, drug and/or genetic screen, or omics approaches.
  • Experience with programming for large data analysis (python or R).
  • Proficiency in mammalian cell culture, cellular and molecular biology.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and build open collaborative relationships is essential.
  • Working experience in quantitative microscopy and/or super resolution microscopy preferred.
  • Experience in drug discovery, high throughput screens and hit characterization of small molecule compounds preferred.
  • Experience with high-throughput instrumentation and automation systems preferred.

The expected salary range for this role is $109,000 to $118,750 depending on skills, competency, and the market demand for your expertise.
