We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Research Associate in the Biology team to conduct exciting research at Nura Bio in the areas of in vitro and in vivo neurobiology. What You Will Do:
- Work under the guidance and mentorship of scientists to evaluate novel neuroprotective therapeutics in model in vitro cell systems
- Participate in the design and development of novel cell-based assays in medium-high throughput formats to drive new target validation, compound optimization and MoA studies
- Establish relevant mammalian cell, primary or iPSC cultures, including differentiation of iPSCs to microglia, neurons, or other cells and optimize genetic manipulation of iPSC and primary cell systems
- Keep detailed and organized records of experimental protocols and results
- Analyze and interpret results, and communicate and present key findings at team meetings
- Rely upon your keen analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions
- Keep current with scientific literature relating to neurodegeneration
- Collaborate and communicate across a diverse scientific team to successfully progress scientific goals
- Rely on your strong interpersonal and communication skills to build transparent and collaborative relationships
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously within a functional area
What You Will Bring:
- A Bachelors degree in Biochemistry, Molecular/Cell Biology, or related discipline with 7+ years or Master’s degree with 3+ years of hands-on research experience
- Experience with lentiviral transduction, stable cell line development, CRISPR-based gene editing
- Basic techniques in cell culture; experience with culture and differentiation protocols for iPSCs is desirable
- Experience with cell-based assay development
- Experience with performing medium- to high- throughput assays and analyzing large datasets
- Keen analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to resolve complex problems requiring innovative, custom solutions
- The ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, communicate clearly, and build open and collaborative relationships is essential
- Ability to independently analyze and interpret data (e.g., GraphPad Prism, Origin, R, etc.)
- Background knowledge in neuroinflammation or neurodegeneration is desirable
