Position Overview:

Join our dynamic and innovative in-house legal team at Nurix Therapeutics, as we blaze new paths in medicine through our pioneering drug development platforms. In this vital role, working alongside a dedicated team that values collaboration and forward-thinking you will manage and negotiate a diverse array of contracts to support our swiftly advancing clinical and R&D programs. You will also make a significant impact through your work on special projects designed to educate members of our organization on contract-related matters, refine contract templates and resources, and streamline our contracting process. This position is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a dynamic, high-volume work environment, and relishes the opportunity to collaborate with a committed team focused on developing breakthrough therapies that transform lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate clinical-related contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies, applicable law, and applicable privacy regulations.
  • Support the negotiation, execution, and management of contracts for other Nurix business teams (e.g., research and development, information technology, regulatory affairs, etc.), as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow members of the Contracts Team to manage contract workloads and ensure timely execution of requested contracts.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the Contracts Team and supported departments, delivering exceptional customer service and reliable guidance that safeguards our company's interests.
  • Coordinate with external parties, including clinical research organizations, vendors, and consultants, to facilitate contract negotiations.
  • Regularly update the Contracts Team and stakeholders on the status of contracts, providing transparent and timely communication.
  • Provide feedback to internal stakeholders on the contracting process, their contractual obligations, and Nurix’s contracts and corporate policies and procedures, in coordination with in-house counsel.
  • Maintain accurate contract records in our contract lifecycle management system, ensuring efficient processing, retrieval, and compliance with organizational standards and contractual obligations.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of contract-related training programs aimed at enhancing the contracting acumen across internal teams.
  • Assist in the ongoing review and maintenance of Legal Team assets, including contract templates, negotiation playbooks, and internal policies.
  • Contribute to special projects as assigned by the Contracts Counsel or Chief Legal Officer.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years’ experience in negotiating and managing clinical trial agreements, confidentiality agreements, vendor and services agreements, consulting agreements, software agreements, statements of work, amendments and change orders with external parties.
  • Beyond mere processing of contracts, this position requires a thorough understanding of material legal terms, and the ability to identify and assess risks accurately, make decisions in line with Nurix’s policies and procedures, and escalate complex contracting and legal matters to Nurix’s in-house counsel.
  • Knowledge of clinical operations and clinical research, ideally with experience interacting with contract research organizations supporting clinical trials.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management software and e-signature solutions, with a willingness to quickly learn and adapt to our specific systems and platforms.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.

Opportunities for Development:

  • Engage in high-impact projects that contribute meaningfully to the advancement of our clinical and research and development initiatives.
  • Gain extensive exposure to a broad range of legal and contractual issues in the biotechnology sector.
  • Internal and external training resources will be provided to support your personal and professional growth.
  • Opportunity for career advancement through performance and increased responsibilities over time.

We look forward to considering your application and potentially welcoming you to our vibrant and passionate team, committed to pioneering new therapies that change lives.
