Job Description

Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit high-value frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers.  The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding scientists in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.

The Opportunity:

As a lab-based scientist within the CMC function this analytical position will support the manufacturing and control of drug substances and drug products through clinical development. The position will provide analytical support by way of method development, trouble shooting and analytical support for compounds in Revolution Medicines pipeline compound development and clinical programs.

  • With some supervision, the position will troubleshoot and develop complex HPLC analytical methods for drug substance and drug product IPC, GMP release, and research purposes.

  • Conduct the transfer of the methods developed in-house to external CDMOs.

  • Provide analytical support for in-house process chemistry and drug product research and development activities including HPLC, LCMS, and other analytical techniques.

  • Some review of CDMO data, method validations, and method development reports will be required.

  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams and attendance at some project team meetings will be required.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

  • A B.S. or M.S. in chemistry, or a related discipline.

  • A minimum of eight years, or 5-6 years with an M.S., of relevant industrial experience in small molecule analytical development.

  • Strong technical knowledge of HPLC/UPLC and some HPLC method development experience is required.

  • Prior experience with LCMS is required.

  • A high level of proficiency with either the Agilent Chemstation/CDS or Waters Empower software is required.

  • A strong GMP or QC background with the ability to review and approve GMP data from CMOs is preferred.

  • Prior experience with Dissolution and tablet development support is a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with sound, technically driven decision-making ability.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Revolution Medicines currently requires that all personnel and visitors to its offices be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This role will require that the employee meet with company employees and work from the company’s offices. Given that these essential functions of the role must be performed on-site, this position requires full COVID-19 vaccination, subject to applicable law.

The expected salary range for this role is $100,000 to $135,000. An individual’s position within the range may be influenced by multiple factors, including skills and experience in role, overall performance, individual impact and contributions, tenure, and market dynamics. Base salary is one part of the overall total rewards program at RevMed, which includes competitive cash compensation, robust equity awards, strong benefits, and significant learning and development opportunities.
