About Remix Therapeutics

Remix launched in 2020 with a vision to transform patient's lives through modulation of RNA processing.

Job Description

Remix launched with a vision to transform patient’s lives through modulation of RNA processing. Our breakthrough science provides a path to identify small molecules that impact the expression of disease driving mRNAs and proteins. We take on the challenge of addressing drug targets in diseases of high unmet medical need to bring new therapeutic options to patients. Remix has a commitment to demonstrate the highest levels of scientific integrity with urgency because those patients are counting on us to deliver. With an in-house technology platform built from scratch, we have rapidly generated multiple drug discovery programs that are advancing towards the clinic.

We seek a highly motivated DMPK scientist to join our team located in Watertown, MA. As a DMPK project representative, the successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in Medicinal Chemistry, Biology, and Pharmacology to develop and execute a DMPK screening strategy to progress our drug discovery programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ADME and knowledge of DMPK experimental aspects and will be motivated to succeed within a hypothesis-driven, team-oriented, and interdisciplinary biotech environment. The individual will be expected to contribute to all stages of drug discovery programs, advancing small molecules from hit identification to development candidate selection.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the DMPK project representative to ensure effective execution of studies and active integration of ADME, PK, and PK/PD information into lead optimization efforts, including identifying critical ADME/PK needs, prioritizing function activities, and proposing strategies.
  • Responsible for the analysis, interpretation, integration, and reporting of preclinical DMPK data generated by external CROs.
  • Integrate ADME, PK, and PK/PD information to guide multi-disciplinary team efforts in lead optimization and to facilitate selection of development candidates including implementation of risk-based strategies.
  • Ensure all deliverables are completed by proposed timelines.
  • Prepare, review and approve non-GLP/GLP-related documents (protocols, DMPK study reports, SOPs etc.) generated internally and externally.
  • Interact with CROs and oversee outsourced studies.

Qualifications

  • MS or PhD. in Pharmacokinetics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology or a related discipline with 5+ years of experience working on small molecule drug discovery projects in pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology setting.
  • Direct hands-on experience and strong trouble shooting skills in both in vitro and vivo DMPK studies, including PK and PK/PD analysis, quantitative and qualitative LC-MS analysis, in vitro and in vivo biotransformation, and human PK and drug interaction predictions.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills across multi-disciplines representing DMPK as a project team representative within the core team is a key requirement.
  • Proficiency in PK/pharmacometrics tools (e.g., Phoenix WinNonlin).
  • General understanding of PK/PD modeling and its application to advance projects.
  • Works successfully under pressure with tight timelines.
