Job Description

Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers.  The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding professionals in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.

The Opportunity:

Revolution Medicines is seeking an Executive Director of Medical Writing to provide executive leadership to the fast-growing Medical Writing function. The Executive Director will collaborate with relevant functional leaders to improve and industrialize the Medical Writing process, ensuring high quality documentation is produced consistently across a growing team servicing many late stage drug development programs. They will continue to build out the Medical Writing function toward full readiness to successfully execute multiple, consecutive New Drug Applications while simultaneously servicing earlier stage development programs. The Executive Director will ensure budget, headcount, and the organization is effectively positioned to scale up and meet the substantially increasing demand for development documents and collaborate closely and effectively with leaders from adjacent functions to identify and drive upstream improvements to process, policy, resource tools, and document quality. They will work with program leads and Medical Writing leadership to deconflict and manage competing priorities. They will set and communicate consistency Medical Writing policies to diverse governance and administrative teams. 

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Collaborative attitude, proactive, and proven ability to work cross-functionally under challenging timelines.

  • Senior management experience. Track record of expert leadership and effective collaboration to advance the function.

  • BA/BS degree with minimum of 15 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, with at least 10 years of medical writing or medical communications experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interpret and present scientific data concisely, accurately and with attention to detail.

  • Expert in MS Word and related applications; familiarity with document management and review systems

  • Ability to effectively direct a large team including FTEs and contractors across multiple geographies

  • Demonstrated ability to scale up a function and maximize efficiency of FTE and contract resources

Preferred Skills:

  • Master’s or doctorate degree in a relevant discipline preferred.

  • 15+ years of experience would be preferrable.

  • Advanced degree within life science field is preferred.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $253,000 to $305,000 for candidates based at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA. The range displayed on each job posting is intended to be the minimum and maximum salary for the position in Redwood City and will be adjusted for the local market a candidate is based. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.
