Eikon Therapeutics is a new biopharmaceutical company employing revolutionary technology at the interface of chemistry, engineering, computation, and biology to discover novel treatments for life-threatening diseases. Eikon’s discovery platform is built on groundbreaking innovations from its founders (Nobel Prize, 2014), culminating in the creation of microscopes which enable real time, molecular-resolution measurements of protein movement in living cells, thereby unlocking otherwise intractable classes of proteins as drug targets.   

Position

As a member of the software team, you will implement solutions to challenges that are defined in collaboration with both fellow developers and scientists. As part of the team developing the data pipelines for Eikon’s core data-driven drug discovery engine, your work will have significant utilization and visibility within the company.

As part of Eikon’s diverse team, you will interface with biologists, medicinal chemists, microscopists, and optical and automation engineers to design and deploy computational solutions that enable the exploration and quantification of Eikon’s high-content datasets.  

What You’ll Do

• Develop back-end pipelines for analysis visualizations to drive decision-making for drug discovery programs. 
• Build and maintain data pipelines to process huge amounts of biomedical and healthcare data. work with modern big data technologies like Apache Airflow, Kubernetes, Docker, etc. to automate and scale our data infrastructure. 
• Work with frontend to provide data for user dashboards, big data visualization, and real time monitoring. 
• Work collaboratively with scientists and engineers to understand tactical needs, develop prototype and production software to keep experiments moving forward 
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously, developing milestones and deadlines in coordination with the broader company goals 

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or in a related field 
• 3-5 years of experience as a Backend or Data Engineer. Experience in a biotech or healthcare company is a plus. 
• Proficiency with Python and SQL. Experience writing data processing scripts and SQL queries. 
• Expertise with data pipeline and workflow management tools like Apache Airflow. Experience scheduling, monitoring, and maintaining data pipelines. 
•  Knowledge of container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Experience deploying and managing containers and microservices.  
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like GCP, AWS or Azure. Experience with managed data services on cloud platforms is a plus. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Team-oriented, flexible, able to adapt to rapidly evolving goals and challenges 
• Enthusiasm for drug discovery essential

The expected salary range for this role is $122,000 to $140,000 depending on skills, competency, and the market demand for your expertise.
