Job Description

Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers.  The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding scientists in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.

The Opportunity:

Playing a critical role within CMC, the position will be responsible for business operations in support of outsourcing and contracting CMC activities to Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs).

  • Serve as primary business operation lead enabling business interaction between RevMed CMC functions and CDMOs for API, drug product, and finished product.

  • Establish and maintain mutually beneficial, long-term business relations with CDMOs.

  • Drive the selection process for CDMOs in collaboration with technical and compliance SMEs, and functional leaders.

  • Lead contract negotiation in close collaboration with a cross-functional team. Ensure the best terms and conditions.

  • Ensure projects/programs meet desired results, compliance, speed, quality, and cost.

  • Develop and maintain a streamlined process in support of the management of budget, purchase orders, and invoices.

  • Enable the development of scope of work (SOW) in close partnership with technical SMEs and function leads.

  • Participate in cross-functional CDMO management activities, including but not limited to aspects such as business needs identification, market screening, contracting, vendor qualification and set-up, compliant delivery of services, and discontinuation.

  • Work with CMC senior management and cross-functional teams to manage vendor performance through the use of personal influence, internal business review meetings, and/or joint governance meetings.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • B.S. or M.S. in scientific fields with 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical strategic sourcing, process development, and/or supply chain, with CMC development content knowledge a plus.

  • Experience working with domestic and international CDMOs.

  • Experience developing, negotiating, and executing clinical or commercial supply and/or quality agreements.

  • Experience managing both strategic and tactical/operational projects.

  • Working knowledge of and experience in clinical manufacturing, regulatory, QA, and cGMP requirements for small molecules.

  • Working knowledge of small molecules drug development and commercialization, including raw material and starting material sourcing, API/drug substance manufacture, process development, process engineering, and process characterization.

  • Working knowledge of pharma end-to-end supply chain.

  • Working knowledge of commercial manufacturing is a plus.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Solid project management, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Solid organizational and time management skills.

  • Effective, open, and transparent communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Capable of working on multiple projects/tasks and able to meet timelines.

  • Self-starter with a high level of comfort with ambiguity and complexity and the ability to multi-task while consistently delivering quality results.

  • Team-oriented, progressive thinker who enjoys participating in an innovative and creative work environment.

Revolution Medicines currently requires that all personnel and visitors to its offices be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This role will require that the employee meet with company employees and work from the company’s offices. Given that these essential functions of the role must be performed on-site, this position requires full COVID-19 vaccination, subject to applicable law.

The expected salary range for this role is $160,000 to $200,000. An individual’s position within the range may be influenced by multiple factors, including skills and experience in role, overall performance, individual impact and contributions, tenure, and market dynamics. Base salary is one part of the overall total rewards program at RevMed, which includes competitive cash compensation, robust equity awards, strong benefits, and significant learning and development opportunities.
