About Revolution Medicines

REVOLUTION Medicines discovers and develops new drugs that harness the therapeutic potential of frontier oncology targets on behalf of cancer patients. Our innovative product engine draws inspiration from nature and evolution, which offer insights into cancer targets, disease mechanisms and therapeutic approaches.

Job Description

Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit high-value frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers.  The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding scientists in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.

The Opportunity

As a member of the Biology Dept. and Cancer Biology team you will:

  • Report to the VP of Cancer Biology and lead a research group of chemical biologists, biochemists, and cell biologists focused on cancer targets and drug mechanisms.

  • Supervise multiple managers and coordinate internal and CRO activities to support overall research strategy.

  • Mentor diverse scientists in designing, executing, and interpreting experiments to drive progress in multiple programs.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines including medicinal chemistry, cancer pharmacology, DMPK, and translational science to answer key questions about mechanism of action and translation of anti-cancer drug candidates for frontier oncology targets.

  • Participate in programs at multiple stages, including early discovery and project qualification, development candidate selection, and mechanistic investigation of clinical observations.

  • Contribute to overall research strategy in a dynamic biotech with a diverse portfolio of projects targeting RAS driven cancers.

  • Establish and oversee academic collaborations, support internal and external publication strategy, and present at scientific meetings.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education

  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Chemical Biology or related field with 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.

  • Proven track-record managing diverse teams of scientists working toward a common goal, experience leading discovery teams to DC selection would be a plus.

  • Practical experience with preclinical in vitro oncology experiments and methods.

  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team of talented lab-based PhD and non-PhD scientists.

  • Strong track record of research productivity with high quality, impactful publications.

  • Skilled in relevant data analysis techniques, including statistical methods, nonlinear curve fitting, and basic analyses of large data sets and genomic databases.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize options, anticipate challenges, and execute on goals as a member of an interdisciplinary team.

  • Thrives in a collaborative team setting and is driven by a desire to deploy innovative approaches and technologies in a high-energy, fast-moving environment.
