Job Description

Eikon’s discovery platform is built on groundbreaking innovations from its founders (Nobel Prize, 2014), culminating in the creation of microscopes which enable real time, molecular-resolution measurements of protein movement in living cells, thereby unlocking otherwise intractable classes of proteins as drug targets.

Position

The newly-created Research Systems Analyst role in Eikon Research presents a unique opportunity to support science across the department while collaborating with our Engineering, Internal Software Development, and IT partners. The Analyst/Sr Analyst will design, streamline, and administrate cross-functional business and scientific processes driving Eikon research. The Analyst/Sr Analyst will support data management capabilities and services required for experimental planning, execution, and analysis.

About You

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical research process and a passion for improving this process for our scientists and staff to facilitate the discovery of new medicines. Success will be measured in the form of new capabilities and efficiencies, while maintaining integrity of the source information.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform scientific business analyses to understand current and emerging needs. Map, develop, and optimize business and scientific processes
  • Define metrics and Key Performance Indicators to drive continuous improvement. Propose performance metrics and goals for research effectiveness to management
  • Support data management and related processes for the Research and Non-Clinical Development organization
  • Configure and be principal user and administrator of specified research systems (electronic lab notebook, data repositories, chemical structure repository, data analysis and reporting tools, LIMS, etc.)
  • Establish training program for employees so they have a holistic and consistent understanding of our lab operational ecosystem and processes, and the support available to them
  • Develop and audit against best practices. Document and manage changes to systems and processes

Qualifications

  • Understanding of lab research processes and experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech setting supporting complex workflows. Solid foundation in drug discovery data analysis best practices
  • Minimum 5 years laboratory experience in drug discovery assay development and execution. BA/BS with minimum 5 years biotech/pharma industry lab experience; MS/PhD with minimum 3 years’ biotech/pharma industry lab experience
  • Experience with scientific applications such as e-lab notebooks, chemical registration systems, Pipeline Pilot, D360, LiveDesign, Torx, Data Warrior, and Spotfire. Strong understanding of relational databases. Specific experience with D360 and with Collaborative Drug Discovery (CDD) ELN and Vault are preferred but not required
  • Preferred minimum 1 year experience managing a LIMS/research informatics environment in a drug discovery context
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Proactive and positive approach
  • Maximum flexibility to adapt to changing program needs in real time
  • Ability to build strong relationships with co-workers of various backgrounds and expertise
