Job Description

Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit high-value frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers.  The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding colleagues in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.

The Opportunity:

Reporting directly to the Chief Business Officer, this leader will help define and establish Revolution Medicines’ global pre-commercial strategy including the development and execution of a roadmap for launching our lead KRAS programs.  Your role will require both strategic thinking and tactical execution. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to provide a commercial perspective on clinical, medical educational, and communications initiatives.  You will offer critical commercial expertise to impact the overall corporate strategy.  This position is based out of our headquarters in Redwood City, CA.

  • Develop strategic pre-commercial and long-range commercial plans for RevMed’s product portfolio.

  • Translate pre-commercial and commercial strategy into tactical functional plans.

  • Build and manage the company’s pre-commercial functions to ensure that strategic goals are attained.

  • Design and lead pre-launch U.S/Global specific primary market research projects, selecting and managing external vendors where necessary, to:

    • Develop and validate the pre-commercial strategy

    • Address specific commercial business issues and questions

  • Create asset-specific target product profiles (TPPs) for the various clinical indications in partnership with clinical team to ensure future clinical adoption and commercial success. 

  • Provide an objective market viewpoint based on an in-depth understanding and analysis of the patient journey and customer landscape. Provide recommendations on marketing strategies and promotional effectiveness.

  • Serve as commercial point for competitive and market intelligence. Evaluate the competitive landscape, for example treatment paradigms, current and future commercial pipeline, access and pricing; monitor changes and predict trends in market dynamics and competition for future planning.

  • Lead and be accountable for commercial assumptions and product forecasts.

  • Act as Commercial lead in business development assessments and discussions with development partners.

  • Participate in cross-functional teams to support effective communications across commercial, clinical development, medical affairs, patient advocacy, publication relations, and investor relations.

  • Deliver commercial operating expenses within budget.

  • Travel as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (MBA preferred) with at least 10-12 years of progressive commercial experience in a biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical company including sales, global strategic marketing and market access.

  • Successful history of setting and executing the commercial strategy (targeted oncology product experience strongly preferred).

  • Experience in leading the launch of new products; full life cycle management desirable.

  • Proven experience in a rapidly growing, publicly traded company.

  • Demonstrated ability to derive insights/analytics leading to the development on innovative and winning business and commercial strategies.

  • Strong leadership, both within the Commercial team, as well as the broader organization, with the ability to work well cross-functionally and influence across the organization at all levels.

  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within reasonably established timelines.

  • Ability to represent Revolution Medicines well externally with strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with a tolerance for ambiguity, and a passion for helping cancer patients.
