About Nurix

Nurix Therapeutics discovers drugs that harness the body's natural process to control protein levels.

Job Description

Nurix Therapeutics is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of small molecule therapies designed to modulate cellular protein levels as a novel treatment approach for cancer and immune disorders. Leveraging Nurix’s extensive expertise in E3 ligases together with its proprietary DNA-encoded libraries, Nurix has built DELigase, an integrated discovery platform to identify and advance novel drug candidates targeting E3 ligases, a broad class of enzymes that can modulate proteins within the cell. Nurix’s drug discovery approach is to either harness or inhibit the natural function of E3 ligases within the ubiquitin proteasome system to selectively decrease or increase cellular protein levels.

Nurix’s wholly owned pipeline comprises targeted protein degraders of Bruton’s tyrosine kinase, a B-cell signaling protein, and inhibitors of Casitas B-lineage lymphoma proto-oncogene-B, an E3 ligase that regulates T cell activation. Nurix is headquartered in San Francisco, California.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual with expertise in cellular biology and pharmacology to Nurix’s Research Team. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Cell Screening team and support early cell-based drug discovery efforts across the company. These duties will include designing and developing novel in vitro cellular assays and planning and executing these assays in an efficient manner. This individual will work closely with scientists from cross-functional disciplines and represent the Cell Screening team to present findings and opinions to project teams. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, highly organized, highly detail oriented, and enjoy working in a dynamic team environment.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology or related field with 4+ years of relevant industry experience or M.S. with 2+ years of experience
  • Extensive hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture
  • Hands-on experience with independently executing, analyzing, and reporting results of quantitative plate-based cellular assays to support preclinical drug discovery activities (e.g. BRET-based assays, luminescence assays)
  • Excellence in performing routine screening activities, analyzing and publishing experimental results and recording experiments in electronic notebook
  • Familiarity with automation equipment (e.g. liquid handlers) and semi-automated workflows
  • Experience in cell line generation (e.g. CRISPR) is a strong plus
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication

Fit with Nurix Culture and Values

  • Team-oriented and collaborative
  • Solutions and results-oriented focus
  • Hands-on approach; resourceful and open to diverse points of view
