Job Description

Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit high-value frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers.  The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding scientists in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.

The Opportunity:

  • Develop robust cell-based pharmacogenomic screens and other methods to identify and validate potential cancer targets to expand the pipeline.

  • Design, conduct, and manage experiments in-house or at contract research organizations (CROs) to validate targets using pharmacologic or genetic approaches in relevant in vitro cellular models.

  • Identify, champion, and develop technologies to increase pharmacogenomicscreening and target validation capabilities.

  • Analyze and interpret experimental data and present results at internal meetings and scientific conferences.

  • Collaborate with biologists, pharmacologists, and data scientists to generate novel insights into key drivers of RAS-addicted cancers and participate in strategic decisions regarding the initiation of new therapeutic programs.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Ph.D. in Molecular/Cell Biology, Cancer Biology, or related field with 5+ years of postdoctoral and/or relevant biopharmaceutical industry research experience; industry experience is preferred.

  • Outstanding, rigorous, and productive experimentalist with strong critical thinking skills and deep knowledge of cellular signaling networks.

  • Knowledge of oncogenic signaling pathways, particularly the RAS-MAPK pathway, is preferred.

  • Practical experience with mammalian cell culture and engineering, particularly with the development of cell-based functional assays.

  • Expertise with functional genomic screening approaches (e.g. CRISPR Ko, CRISPRi, and CRISPRa) and relevant assay readout technologies (e.g. alphaLISA/MSD, TR-FRET/BRET, luminescence, high-content microscopy, flow cytometry, NGS based technologies, etc.).

  • Ability to analyze large datasets and familiarity with relevant data processing and visualization tools (e.g. Genedata Screener, KNIME, R, or Spotfire).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and a high degree of self-awareness with a flexible growth mindset.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize options, anticipate challenges, collaborate, and execute on goals as a member of an interdisciplinary team in a high-energy, fast-moving environment.
