Job Description

Atavistik Bio is seeking an experienced Manager/Senior Manager, Lab Operations with excellent communication, interpersonal and managerial skills to manage and maintain our labs and operations.
 
The Manager/Senior Manager, Lab Operations will play a vital role in the overall organization, operation, and safety of the lab and will collaborate with R&D members to provide general support for their experiments. The successful candidate will have demonstrated a successful track record in laboratory and team management. The candidate will be well versed in permitting, training, and reporting requirements as set forth by local, state, and federal regulations. Most importantly, the right candidate will be confident, passionate, execution-focused, team-oriented, and has a can-do attitude and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee facility operations, including equipment sourcing, procurement, maintenance, managing/tracking of biohazardous and chemical waste; and management of overall lab organization and cleanliness.
Serve as the primary point of contact with vendors and laboratory service providers; serve as primary emergency response contact.
Coordination and ensure scheduling of routine maintenance of various machines
Oversee safety consultant and conduct orientation and annual safety training for all lab personnel
Assist with space and work-flow planning, including planning and project management of moves and buildouts.
Implement and maintain lab inventory system and handle ordering of common supplies, including consumables, liquid nitrogen/cell storage, chemical reagents.
Manage the receiving, delivery, and shipping of packages for both domestic and international shipments.
Routinely collaborate and attend meetings with scientists to address laboratory workflow, issues, projects, concerns, etc. 
Required Qualifications:
Education: BS/MS with 5+ years in biology, chemistry, or a related field.
Prior hands-on laboratory operations experience in a production laboratory is required.
Excellent organization skills, ability to multi-task, and desire to be part of a growing team.
A desire to learn new things, the ability to remain flexible in a dynamic work environment and adjust priorities in a timely manner. 
Excellent written, verbal communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience as a biosafety and/or chemical safety officer
