Job Description

Eikon Therapeutics is a new biopharmaceutical company employing revolutionary technology at the intersection of chemistry, engineering, computation, and biology to discover novel treatments for life-threatening diseases. Eikon’s discovery platform is built on groundbreaking innovations from its founders (Nobel Prize, 2014), culminating in the creation of microscopes which enable real time, molecular-resolution measurements of protein movement in living cells, thereby unlocking otherwise intractable classes of proteins as drug targets.

Position

Reporting to the Director of Procurement & Supply Chain, the Sr. Buyer will be an integral part of our growing team interacting with suppliers and executing purchasing strategies in support of our various functions including IT, Facilities, HR, and other G&A departments.

 About You

Working knowledge or familiarity with Indirect needs of growing and/or biopharmaceutical company is a plus.

 What You’ll Do

Purchasing Execution and Sourcing

  • Manage entire cycle of purchase orders, negotiate deliveries, and maintain vendor communication
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in IT, Facilities, HR, and other G&A departments to facilitate infrastructure growth and operations while establishing partnerships with reliable suppliers
  • Partner particularly with Facilities and HR to clearly define day-to-day existing indirect products and service spend areas (e.g. professional services, maintenance/repair, office supplies) and identify long-term vendor partnerships to meet needs
  • Negotiate contracts (e.g. MSA, SOW) and commercial terms where appropriate
  • Support strategy and planning for future spend areas (e.g. travel, marketing services)

Issue Resolution and Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with internal stakeholders including AP, Receiving, and End Users to resolve purchase order issues regarding shipment, delivery, and invoice discrepancies and supplier performance issues
  • Support accurate records of service level, quality, and quantity issues including inventory status issues to relevant teams to aid in the optimization of supply and service
  • Actively participate in ongoing and future configuration of our COUPA P2P and SAP S4 HANA ERP systems

 Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of procurement or sourcing experience preferably for indirect materials and services
  • Experience with procurement, enterprise, and operations, systems including, but not limited to, Coupa, Ariba, SAP, and Netsuite.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent supplier & project management and negotiation skills
  • Previous experience within biotechnology or medical technology is not required but beneficial
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, SharePoint, JIRA, and other similar productivity tools
  • Strong communication skills and ability to develop creative solutions for business challenges
