Neurona Therapeutics is a clinical stage biotechnology company based in South San Francisco, CA that was created to develop cell-based therapies for neurological disease. We have an opening for a Preclinical Research Associate who will contribute to ongoing programs and build new animal models to study modulation of neural circuits and support translational development of cellular therapeutics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working with rodents including handling, dosing, surgical procedures and tissue collection
- Observation and scoring of behavioral assays
- Analysis of EEG (electroencephalography) for seizures
- Processing tissue for histology: Microtome and cryostat sectioning, staining, immunohistochemistry, imaging and quantitative analysis
- Following experimental protocols and maintaining detailed and accurate records
- Analyzing data, interpreting and communicating results
- Conducting independent experiments and contributing to collaborative activities
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in biology, neuroscience, or a related field (or equivalent)
- Previous relevant lab experience and supporting references that includes working with animals
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to contribute to a team
- Clear, effective written and verbal communication
