Job Description

Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit high-value frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers.  The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding scientists in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.

The Opportunity:

As a Senior Scientist / Associate Director in Translational Research group you will:

  • Be a critical contributor and provide strong strategic and technical leadership in translation research group and multi-disciplinary research and development project teams.

  • Design, conduct, and manage in vivo and ex vivoexperiments in-house or at contract research organizations (CROs), and other collaborating institutions, related to the discovery and development of novel anti-cancer agents, including but not restricted to:

    • Novel oncology pathway inhibitors

    • Combination strategies

    • Preclinical pharmacodynamic studies

    • Resistance modeling

    • Biomarker development

  • Manage and analyze experimental data and present results at internal meetings and scientific conferences.

  • Develop high-quality protocols and outputs and maintain detailed documentation of procedures and data to comply with internal standard operating procedures and other quality criteria, where necessary.

  • The post-holder may be required to manage or supervise other scientific personnel.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Ph.D. in pharmacology or cancer biology with at least 5-7 years of relevant industry experience.  Oncology drug discovery and IND-enabling pharmacology experience preferred.

  • In-depth understanding of oncology preclinical disease models, relevant signaling pathways, and experience with elucidating basic oncology concepts such as PKPD and efficacy relationships. An understanding of preclinical to clinical translational concepts desired.

  • Rigorous, quantitative and detail-oriented experimentalist with proven excellence in experimental design, data analysis methods, data management, and presentation.

  • Demonstrated experience in in vivo experiments with oncology disease models, including technical excellence in rodent handling and dosing skills.

  • Strong track record of research productivity as evidenced by high-quality, impactful publications.

  • Thrives in a collaborative team setting and is driven by a desire to be innovative in a high energy start-up environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize options, anticipate challenges, and execute on goals as a member of an interdisciplinary team is extremely important.
